My Services

You are the healing you’ve been waiting for.

The healing you’ve been wanting is the healing you deserve to have.

Here are a few of the challenges my clients face, and the issues we can work through together:

Anxiety and Mood Disorders

Anxiety and mood disorders are so often misunderstood. The irony is that these painful experiences provide invaluable insight into our psyche’s needs, so often ignored and dulled by self-medicating in the form of food, alcohol, drugs, in addition to the more culturally approved ‘retail therapy’ or endlessly hitting the ‘next episode’ tab on Netflix! Although learning to decipher the messages our body and mind are trying to tell us can be agonizing, this can often make all the difference between surviving and thriving. I will introduce you to many tools and techniques to manage and relieve the discomfort and suffering. I offer approaches for getting to the root cause of anguish by exploring clients’ brain chemistry, life circumstances and relationships, nutrition and the gut-brain connection, and providing hope for the relief and self-love you have been yearning for.

Eating Disorders and Body Image Issues

Our relationship with food and eating reflects our relationship with ourselves at the core. Addressing and healing trauma, anxiety, and/or mood disturbances, along with learning to accept and appreciate oneself are some of the essential elements of lasting recovery. I began my career with a focus on eating disorders 25 years ago, working in inpatient, outpatient, and residential care. I’ve helped clients heal their relationships with food by introducing intuitive eating practices that deeply nourish and sustain. I work with clients who are struggling with seeing food as an enemy, are prone to extreme over- or under-eating, engage in excessive exercise or are exercise resistant, and/or use emotional eating to numb out from life’s challenges. I’ve helped clients overcome the destructive thought patterns of dysmorphia when they look in the mirror, make healthier choices that align with their vision for a life of whole body wellness, and love their bodies through the power of whole, natural, life-giving foods.

Trauma

Whether through hurtful acts or soul-crushing experiences, hurt happens in many ways. Sometimes, it can build up to the point that it affects our ability to navigate through life. I’ve dedicated my career to offering the most effective approaches to addressing and healing trauma such as EMDR and EFT, body-based healing approaches such as energy medicine, energy psychology, bioenergetics, along with mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral treatment and neuroscience. I believe the human spirit is resilient, and innately designed to heal and thrive. As your therapist, it’s my honor to introduce you to these methods of recovery from trauma, and walk with you in your healing journey.

Relationships

Relationships are the cornerstone of our lives, and shape every stage of life. I’ve been leading individuals and couples to honor the sacred connections they experience by improving communication, understanding, and boundaries, all in the name of deeply fulfilling relationships that are a joy to be a partner in. I can help you with issues like navigating the dating stage, repairing trust after betrayals, reigniting the spark in long-term relationships, and moving through the many stages of consciously ending a relationship through break-ups or divorce with mutual kindness, mindfulness, and respect.

Here are a few of the beliefs that guide my own practice:

We’re on the same team, working toward the same wins.

My goal is to help you see me as an ally and an advocate, a guide and a confidante. While our relationship is always professional, I also want it to feel personal. It’s why I’ve devoted my life to not only inquiry and learning, but also deep listening all in the spirit of seeing you, honoring you, and helping you thrive.

The journey begins when we get to the root of the pain.

A huge part of the healing process is getting to experience the glimmer of hope that reminds us of who we are, and what life can be like again once we get past the pain. While that part is always one of the most exciting moments in my time spent with people, it’s impossible to reach without first getting to the root of the pain. That means returning to the hard, heavy things that you’ve carried with you, exploring time, people, and memories in order to access real moments of healing informed by your own personal history.

Listening is part of my job, but so is building structure.

As your therapist, I honor by listening. But I also honor you by turning passive listening into active healing. Though I will offer many tools and approaches for working on and moving through your own pain, the goal is to help you learn how to use those tools for yourself. In our sessions, expect warmth, kindness, and compassion, counterbalanced by moments of healthy pushback, challenge, and speaking truth – all to help you expand into your potential.
